So the mythical Snyder Cut is finally here! And it's exactly what you think it would be. So depending on how much you liked or disliked Man Of Steal and BvS: Ultimate Edition will probably reflect what you think of the Snyder Cut. It certainly works a lot more as a film compared to the awful Theatrical release (which is similar to the Ultimate Edition being better than the BvS theatrical release).
And the result of all this effort is that it's now equally as good and as bad as both of those films. I think both the MoS and BvS:UE are 'ok' movies with major character decisions I don't agree with, over-the-top CGI city-wide destruction as finales, and bloated, overly long running times. Zack Snyder's Justice League delivers just as much odd mischaracterisations of the characters, odd decisions (I didn't expect to watch slow motion hot dogs, sesame seeds and buns floating about today) and over-the-top CGI city-wide destruction, and a running time that borders on painful.
Yes, it's a better film than we got originally, and it's been a truly fascinating journey to see the comparison between a WB 'fully interfered-with' studio film and what the directors 'original (plus added hindsight) vision' was. But can we now get the DC universe of characters done well, please? 🤷🏼♂️
